A Table Outside at Coverwood Lakes - SOLD OUT

A Table Outside at Coverwood Lakes - 15th September 2018

Farm to table dining by the lake from 6:00-10:00pm

The venue

Midway between Guildford and Dorking, in the bucolic village of Ewhurst, lies the idyllic Coverwood Lakes. These 14 acres of landscaped gardens and lakes, in the rolling Surrey Hills, form part of a 180 acre working farm famed for its pedigree Herefordshire cattle and Ryeland sheep.

Coverwood has been owned by the Metson family since 1952 and third generation farmer Tim prides himself on the farm’s naturally reared, free range, grass fed beef and lamb. Our farm to table dinner will be showcasing produce from Coverwood as well as both food and drink from the surrounding countryside.

The chef

Daniel Britten’s cooking is synonymous with Surrey. After reaching the quarter finals of Masterchef in 2008, he went on to win Surrey Life Magazine’s Best Local Menu and has been nominated twice for Surrey Chef of the Year. For this event, he will be cooking over an open fire using Surrey Hills produce.

The evening

Join us for canapés and cocktails by the lake at Coverwood from 6pm followed by a sunset tour of the estate led by the owner Tim Metson. The 30 minute tour ends at our long table where you’ll take a seat to enjoy a wonderful four course meal with wine paired to each dish.

What does your ticket include?

Tickets are £130 per person (or £97.50 if you're lucky enough to get an Early Bird ticket) and include:

A signature cocktail on arrival along with a selection of amazing canapés

A tour of Coverwood Lakes

A four course meal served family style with wine paired to each dish

Where to find Coverwood Lakes

There are various ways to get to the farm depending on where you’re coming from and the Metson Family has helpfully produced directions here. The full address is Coverwood Lakes, Peaslake Road, Cranleigh, GU6 7NT (please note that only TomTom SatNav systems seem to bring you to the correct place. All others take you to Radnot Road, about half a mile away!) You’re welcome to drive and leave your car overnight at Coverwood Lakes and we recommend you pre-book your taxi home as this is a rural location.

We'd like to draw your particular attention to the dietary restrictions and food allergies section, as well as the bits about the weather and children. A Table Outside at High Clandon Estate – 9th June 2018

Farm to table dining in the vineyard from 6:00-10:00pm

The venue

The Telegraph recently described High Clandon as ‘England’s best vineyard that you’ve never heard of’. But with a clutch of international awards including the IWC’s Cellar Door of the Year 2017, we have a feeling this boutique vineyard set high in the Surrey Hills won’t be a secret for much longer. With panoramic views of the London skyline, High Clandon produces elegant English sparkling wine crafted from the classic trio of champagne grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Bees make a delicate honey from the wildflower meadow at the top of the estate and the Burgundian Truffle orchard planted in 2004 will soon be ready to harvest. Our farm to table dinner marks the release of High Clandon’s Elysium Cuvée.

The chef

Daniel Britten’s cooking is synonymous with Surrey. After reaching the quarter finals of Masterchef in 2008, he went on to win Surrey Life Magazine’s Best Local Menu and has been nominated twice for Surrey Chef of the Year. For this event, he will be cooking over an open fire using old vine wood and the menu will feature produce from the High Clandon estate.

The evening

Join us for canapés and cocktails on the terrace at High Clandon from 6pm followed by a lively and entertaining tour of the estate led by the owners Bruce and Sibylla Tindale. The 30 minute tour ends at our long table where you’ll take a seat to enjoy a wonderful four course meal with wine paired to each dish.
